Ethos Council 2017 - 2018

Mr Collier

Mr Collier

Mr Tim Collier - Year Five Teacher/Assistant Headteacher
I have taught at Brereton since April 2001. I enjoy teaching Years 5 and 6 because the pupils here are keen to learn and they achieve high standards. I always look forward to Summer Show performances and especially taking Year 6 to Pensarn Harbour before Easter. The staff are a kind, hardworking and supportive team of colleagues and friends. I enjoy taking part in plays and musical theatre in and around Manchester.
I am currently trying to learn French at home - and in France. I did get an O level in it (a long time ago) although it's amazing what vocabulary you can remember when you are in a French ironmonger's with a non-English speaking Frenchman behind the counter.

The Aims of our Ethos Council

  • To make our school community the best it can be.

  • For all children and adults to feel comfortable, happy and safe to express their faith.

  • To make sure people can tell that our school is a Christian school.

Our Role

  • We will listen to the ideas, opinions and suggestions of our class mates.

  • We will review and contribute to school policies.

  • We will help to decide how money should be spent to improve the Christian character of our school.

  • We will help to make our school rules.

  • We will discuss our learning in RE, P.S.H.E and Collective Worship and how it could be made even better.

  • We will share our views with Staff, Governors and Parents.

  • We will suggest Christian charities we could support.

  • We will work closely with our Safeguarding and School Council Groups.

Please check our page regularly for updates and information. Don't forget we also have a suggestion box in the entrance hall which we check regularly and we welcome your thoughts and ideas.

13th November 2015

Today we went on a learning walk to find examples of Christian Ethos around school.

17th November 2015

Following our learning walk on Friday we decided to order new prayer trees for everyone's Reflection Area. Today we took a new prayer tree round to every class. We also gave the teachers the write up of our learning walk.
