Year 6 03.11.23

Date: 3rd Nov 2023 @ 4:02pm

A super first week back!

We have started our new English text 'Dreams of Freedom' and have been looking at the rights of children and what is like for those people who are not given their rights and freedom. Today, we have listened to Martin Luther King's speech and written a poem based on what he was fighting for, they have all turned out wonderfully!

I couldn't be happier with everyone this week in maths, everyone has worked so hard and shown such determination on a tricky concept. We are now all much happier wit long division and have been solving questions independently.

We have started a new geography unit of 'Where in the world?' where we will be looking at the continents and challenging misconenceptions. This week we have looked at Aftica and were amazed to see so many modern cities and different climates!

Although we don't have forest school this half term, we have been very lucky to have a session in the new outdoor classroom and enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Next week, we have photos on Monday. Please remember to come in uniform and bring PE kit to get changed into.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
