Year 5 21st November

It was lovely to see so many of you at our class assembly on Friday. I hope you enjoyed hearing all about the Victorians.

This week children will be working on ordering and adding fractions in maths. Some children are still finding times tables tricky and we will be working on this in school, however any work you can do at home helps enormously. There are games children can access on mymaths and the BBC website, but it could be as simple as asking a few quick fire questions in the car. In English, we will begin a new text 'Until I Met Dudley'. Please encourage the children to act this out for you. It will help them become familiar with the text.

We will also be completing assessments in maths, reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar this week. This will help to monitor children's progress and identify areas we need to work on.

Finally, it is our Christmas fair this Friday and the Y5 stall is bottle tombola. We have a few volunteers but if any of you are able to help, please let me know.
