First Few Weeks

In the first few weeks, we have studied our text 'Return' by Aaron Becker and we have started work on writing our own setting narrative. The children have been coming up with some fantastic descriptions using, adjectives, prepositions and similes. In Science, we have explored magnets and forces by testing out materials and finding out for ourselves which materials are magnetic. We have also started some work for our topic books, looking at rivers and mountains, and canals in our local area. We have used maps to see which features we can find in our local area. The children have almost completed their first unit in Power Maths, where we have been comparing numbers up to 1000 this week.

The children all really enjoyed the trip to the theatre to see Jospeh and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. We will be practising our own performance for the Harvest festival next week.
