Well Done Year 2

Date: 19th Mar 2016 @ 1:00pm

We have had another very busy and successful week.

We made an Easter Garden for our church service later in the week and learned the meaning of each element in relation to the Easter story. We have attached a photo to share with you below.

The sun shone on Wednesday afternoon as Year 2  explored various habitats in the school grounds as part of Science this week. They were searching for living thngs in the woods, pond, field, plant pots and underneath rocks. We found a wealth of plants, bugs and even saw fish in the pond.

On Thursday we all ran a mile for Sport Relief to raise money and enjoyed delicious cakes, thanks to Year 5 organising a cake sale.

In Numeracy this week we have been learning about money. The children have all thoroughly enjoyed using a toy till as we set up several sweet shops to practise adding amounts and calculating change. It would be great to continue practising these skills at home too.

On Friday Year 2 did a fantastic job of leading the Easter Service at St Oswald's Church. We are so proud of how the children read their parts so clearly and confidently. Well done Year 2, you were all superstars!

Finally, thank you to all parents for attending parent consultations this week, it was great to share your children's successes and next steps with you.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend
