A week of fabulous writing in Year 4!

As our Twisted Tale unit draws to a close, the children have enjoyed writing 3 paragraphs: the first told of a beautiful innocent victim, the second the entrance of the villain and the third twisted a traditional happy ending. Cinderella has ended up being arrested for treason, Jack has been squashed as the giant fell down the beanstalk and poor old Sleeping Beauty has had quite an unfortunate turn of events!

In Maths, we completed our Area unit with the children completing their end of unit check with flying colours. We are now back to multiplication and this time it is the 7s.

In Computing, we have revisited Scratch- the coding program. Over the next few sessions we will be furthering our skills.

In RE, we continued our Christmas unit, exploring how Jesus is the Light of the World. The children learnt of Terry Waite's five years in captivity and how he kept himself going during that time.

In Spanish, we continued our vocabulary towards Red Riding Hood and sang our number song throughout the week. Also helped by song was our understanding of the Character Strengths we are focussing on in My Happy Mind.

Gargoyles are behaving very badly in our Guided Reading sessions which also couple with our spelling focus of adding -ly as a suffix.

As the week drew to a close, the children have made a note of their TTRS logins and are to practise their 3s, 6s and 9s this weekend before our focus shifts to the 7s in class.

Our certificates went to 3 fabulous writers who have written stories to a high standard this week: Issy, Tom and Henry. Well done to them and well done to the whole class on a fabulous week's work.

Mrs Tice, Mrs Gleave and Mrs Warren.
