Back to school with a vengence! We have had a busy week.

Our assemblies have focussed on the idea of living life to its fullest- the idea of flourishing in all areas of life. This began our week as Mrs Mclean encouraged us to work hard in all we do. This includes our friendships and our classrooms, not only in our school work.

Our English unit is very exciting- we are on a quest to write a story about a quest! Myths and legends are our focus this half term. We will be looking at the original Viking legends and learning about Valhalla and the Norse World. Then we will be developing our language skills to portray our hero and their quest to save their village.

In Maths, we continued our knowledge in decimals and have been practising our awareness of tenths and hundredths on a Place Value Grid. We have also had the return of the 144 club.

History this half term will focus on the Windrush generation. This week, we learnt how people were encouraged to travel to England during the 50s. We then designed posters that may have formed part of the campaign to bring people over after the Second World War.

Computing was all about how a computer thinks- the lagorithms and petterns it would use to break down a problem. Can you add all the numbers from 1 to 200? There is a formula to help you.

In Art, we began to explore about the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat who was inspired by Andy Warhol. The children researched and designed their own knowledge organisers.

In PE, rounders is this season's focus along with gymnastics.

As the week drew to a close, Max received the certificate of the week for his concerted effort this week- great week for you, Max. Well done!
