Reception's Blog - Week Beginning Monday 9th March

Before starting with what has been happening this week, we ask that that you read our newsletter to get a full up date on our school arrangements in regards to coronavirus. Please pay attention to the amendments to dates as our Church service is still going ahead at the moment but our Stay and Make has been cancelled.

This week has been another busy one with consolidating number bonds to 10, writing innovations of the story ‘Star in the Jar’ and taking part in science week. Please see all attached photos to see exactly what we have been doing.

Next week we aim to make rockets from plastic bottles, so we are asking that each child brings in one empty 2 litre plastic bottle. If you don’t have access to one of these we should be able to find one in school but would appreciate your support if needed. We hope to make these on Tuesday.

This week we have a started our new intervention with the class in relation to their speech and language. The name of our intervention is ‘WellComm’ and you may see some information and additional worksheets in your child’s bag. It is essential that these are followed up at home so that the work we do in school in consolidated. The aim of this intervention is to enable the children to reach either their full potential or achieve the ELG. If you have any queries or questions we can discuss these at parents’ consultations next week.
