This week we have been working hard to defeat The Thrilling Three’s arch nemesis Captain Destruction!
The Thrilling Three sent us some new superhero toys but unfortunately they had been chained up. Our challenge was to break the code on the padlock by finding two numbers that make 10. We used Numicon tiles to help us to do this. Numicon is a fantastic resource for supporting work with number and home packs can be purchased from sites such as Amazon, should you wish.
In Literacy we have been learning how to write instructions. We built a trap to catch Captain Destruction and then wrote our instructions so others could do the same.
We have also be learning how to be healthy superheroes by looking at how to care for our teeth. We have written instructions on how to brush our teeth and we have set up an experiment to find out which drinks are good for us.
Captain Destruction also froze some of our favourite superheroes and we had a great time trying to rescue them!
We were all very relieved when Mrs Sant informed us that the police had phoned to tell us that Captain Destruction had been caught! Phew!
Don’t forget our Superhero Day is on Thursday 5th February and children can come to school in their costumes.
