General Election 2017
General Election 2017
In today's assembly we learnt all about our democratic process. We learnt how elections are run, which parties stand and how results influence our parliament. Here in the UK everybody over 18 can vote and we feel very fortunate to live in a country where everybody gets to have a a say. We then heard from the candidates standing for our constituency; Fiona Bruce (Conservatives), Mark Davies (UKIP), Sam Corcoran (Labour), Alec Heath (Green Party) and Peter Hirst (Liberal Democrats). After listening to each candidate we all cast our votes and placed them in the ballot box.
Results have already been counted and verified and the winning candidate is....
ALEC HEATH of the GREEN PARTY with 65 votes. Fiona Bruce same second with 38 votes, Mark Davies received 3 votes, Sam Corcoran won 20 votes and Peter Hirst secured 12 votes.
We wonder if tomorrow's election will yield the same results?
