Fairtrade Day
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are going to taking part in a 'Fairtrade Day' led by Miss Williams and Miss Allison as part of their university degree.
The children will be mixed class groups and take part in a range of activities including:
- Geography: What fairtrade products are produced in Kenya and how are they transported to the UK.
- Art: Looking at the fairtrade symbol and learning how to collage.
- Philosophy for Children (P4C): Looking at the cost of the banana and talking about how much the farmer receives and discussing is this fair?
- Baking: The children will be using fairtrade products to make tasty treats (banana muffin, rice crispy cakes and chocolate brownies). The children will be able to enjoy these snacks at 3pm, we will be asking for a 50p donation towards the ingredients please. The children can give their 50p at the start of the day or use it to buy a snack at the end.
We hope to have an exciting and informative day.
Thank you in advance for your continued support.
