York Day 1
Date: 24th May 2023 @ 7:15pm
What a fantastic day everyone has had!
After an easy journey and only a few "Are we there yet?"s, we arrived at our beautifully comfy home for the next few days. We ate our lunches on the lawn and then we were off on the first of our many walks. Being slightly early for the Railway Museum, Mrs Mclean had the wonderful idea of going for an ice-cream. 25 chocolate, fruity and vanilla ices later, we carried on to the museum. Here we walked over, under and through engines from the whole era of locomotives. We saw the Mallard, the Rocket, the Pet, Q1, the Bullet Train, many others and Axel got to stand underneath an axel!
The walk home was sunny and slightly long but we have been rewarded with a mountain of pizza and chips and right now we are sitting playing in the sun. All are happy; all are settled in. We might go for a walk to the playground around the corner before bed.
More tomorrow...
