Year One - Week beginning 25th November 2019
Date: 2nd Dec 2019 @ 4:13pm
We had such a busy week in Year One! In phonics, we recapped on 'air', 'are' and 'ou'. I will send homework home tomorrow. It was missed with all of the Christmas Fair excitement! In literacy, we innovated our Beegu story maps, changing characters and settings to our own, ready for writing our stories about a lost character.
In maths, we have been working on subtraction and the difference between numbers. Thank you for helping your children to write their numbers the correct way round. I've seen a difference following the homework. Please remind your children to give their homework in. The homework tray is put out for them in the mornings as a reminder. Mornings are also used for changing reading books. Children are receiving dojo's for reading and for homework. They are getting quite competitive about it!
In science, we looked further at our senses. This week we concentrated on the sense of touch. Children enjoyed feeling and describing mystery objects.
Topic has involved discovering facts about the moon. We looked at how astronauts live in the International Space Station.
On Friday, Reverend Sandi came in and told us some of her favourite bible stories. It was lovely to have her here.
Could we make sure all costumes for the Christmas play are in school this week please?
Thank you.
