Another wonderful week in Year 6!
We have all thoroughly enjoyed our creative writing lessons and have produced a variety of wonderful pieces from biographies to stories and persuasive letters. It has been fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and enjoyment in writing and we will continue with these lessons as we go forward to build on this love of wriitng we have seen this week.
In maths we have been adding and subtracting fractions. It has been hard in parts remebering all the steps to complete questions independently but we have taken our time and all tried are very best. We will continue with this next week to really embed our new knowledge and become experts on fractions! I have set homework on this subject this week, if there are any problems please just let me know and we will go through it again next week.
We have enjoyed more work in Geography looking at the continents with our focus this week being on Australasia. We worked in groups to produce presentations on the states and cities of Australia, sharing our knowledge and enjoying looking at the lifestyles of people in Australia.
We have also enjoyed science with Mr Cotton, looking at adaptation and experimenting how the size of a beak would impact on the life of a finch in the Galapagos.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Pirie
