Year 6 22/09/23
Date: 22nd Sep 2023 @ 3:45pm
Another super busy week for Year 6!
We have started to plan our first piece of extended writing on the Charles Darwin voyage to the Galapagos Islands. We all enjoyed researching the animals that we will be including in our story and have used some fantastic descriptions for them. I am expecting some fabulous pieces when we start our writing next week!
We have now completed our first unit of maths - Place Value- and have moved on to Four Operations, started with addition. Everyone proved they are very confident with this and have used some fantastic explanations for their reasoning and answers.
In History this week we have looked at WW1 and the roles of women at the time. We linked this to the suffragettes work we did the week before and discussed what their thoughts at the time could have been.
Forest school this morning was a highlight for most as we used tools to create structures and patterns, working in teams and showing how we can help each other. It was lovely to see everyone having fun together and sharing tips and ideas.
And of course all this has been going on in between our daily swimming lessons, which will continue next week. I will leave you with a few photos from some of our lessons.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend,
Mrs Pirie
