Year 5 WC 7th October 2024
Date: 11th Oct 2024 @ 1:26pm
What a lovely week we've had in Year 5!
On Tuesday we had a wonderful trip to Chester Cathedral for a Pilgrim Day. The children were a delight and we were very proud of them all, showing our behaviour values of being ready, respectful and safe at all times. Please see the separate blog for photos from the day.
Yesterday, the children were very excited to welcome you to our classroom and share their learning with you. It was great to see their enthusiasm to discuss what they had learnt this term. We hope to share your comments in their 'Wow book' very soon!
In Maths this week we have continued with addition and subtraction, looking at inverse operations and then on to some multi-step problem solving. This has proved to be quite tricky so we will continue to practise deconstructing word problems over the next couple of weeks. I understand that in the homework this week, there are a few quite challenging word problems. We will be going through these in class so if your child is struggling please reassure them not to worry.
Next week we are launching the Art of Brilliance project across the school which we are very much looking forward to. Year 5 will be taking part in workshops on Tuesday and Wednesday so I hope they will be excited to share what they have learnt with you next week.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
