Year 5 WC 29th April
Date: 4th May 2024 @ 9:14am
We’ve had another super week in Year 5. In Maths we have started our new topic on angles. We have recapped our learning from Year 3 and 4 by identifying right angles, acute and obtuse angles. Then the children were introduced to protractors learning how to measure angles up to 180 degrees accurately.
In English we have been analysing our model text, looking at the features which help to make the writing effective. Then we have started to plan our own dilemma narrative about capturing an extinct creature.
In our Young Leaders lesson we started to think about some inspirational leaders which has been the topic for their homework this week. I’ve been really impressed with the homework that I’ve received already and can’t wait to see their presentations on Tuesday.
On Thursday we had a lovely walk down to church for our class worship. Rev. Sandi talked about the importance of laughter and making each other happy.
Yesterday in our Forest School session we made damper bread using self-raising flour, a pinch of salt and water. Then we wrapped it round some hotdogs and cooked them on the campfire. Delicious!
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend and we'll see you all on Tuesday.
