Year 5 w/b 25th November

Date: 29th Nov 2024 @ 3:49pm

Good evening everyone!

Well, we are hurtling at what seems like break-neck speed towards the end of the autumn term - just three more weeks to go, but so much still to do!

This week, we have continued our learning on fractions in maths. It's a long maths unit with lots of things to remember, but we are definitely making positive progress and hopefully next week's homework won't be too arduous!

In music, as well as rehearsing our songs for SingFest we have been exploring the music of South America and using perscussion instruments, blending rhythms to create an authetic samba beat.

In geography, the class have been learning about the capital cities in North America, using atlases to see where they are and understanding just how much of North America (other than the USA) there actually is.

Next week we have our whole school theatre trip to The New Vic in Newcastle, and on Friday is our school Christmas fair - hopefully we will see lots of you there; we will keep fingers crossed for fair weather - I have promised Santa's elf that he will be warm...

Have a great weekend!
