Year 4 WC 25.1.2016
Date: 21st Jan 2016 @ 4:26pm
Unfortunately we had to postpone our trip to Brereton Heath as the weather forecast was heavy rain. This has now been rearranged for this Friday 29th January (we just wanted an excuse to get Miss Kennedy back for an extra day!).
In maths this week we are continuing with measure. Last week we focused on mm, cm, m and km so this week we'll look more at weight and capacity. Again this will include reading various scales, understanding the relationship between the units and answering problems in real life contexts.
In English, I am very excited to start our new text: Oliver and the Seawigs by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre. I'm sure the children will find it very amusing!
In March we will be having a Key Stage 2 Shakespeare Day. Teaching Shakespeare is a great interest of mine and so this is a day I am very much looking forward to. For those that are interested in drama, the Royal Shakespeare Company put on various 'Family Workshops' throughout the year at their theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. Here is the link if you would like more information: https://www.rsc.org.uk/events/family-workshop. Their next workshop is on Saturday 20th February.
