Year 4 Verona chooses a statue of Juliet
Date: 4th Feb 2015 @ 1:52pm
"For I will raise a statue in pure gold;
That while Verona by that name is known,
There shall be no figure at such rate be set
As that of true and faithful Juliet."
As the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet unfolded and their families learnt of the news, Lord Montague announced this.
Therefore, the stone masons of Verona soon got to work as they wanted their workshop to be the one that produced 'The Golden Juliet'. The children in Year 4 imagined what it was like in those workshops, considering the different roles such as the designer, the owner, the labourers, etc.
What is the reason behind this statue?
What do we want it to represent?
How will Juliet be stood/sat?
These are some of the questions we considered in our drama session this week.
