Year 4 half term homework project

This half term I would like the children to complete a project based on William Shakespeare to build on what we have learnt in class. I would like this to be a very open-ended task which allows the children to work to their strengths. 

Here are some ideas of what you could do: 

• you could look at the life of William Shakespeare, where he lived and research his family.   This could be presented using ICT or a handwritten poster/booklet. 
• I know some of you are keen to find out more about Shakespeare's plays, why not retell another of his plays? You could use PowerPoint, create a storyboard or make your own illustrated book to show the story in an eye-catching and exciting way. 
• you may want to do a DT project and create Elsinore Castle, the city of Verona (or something from another of his plays). You could also include some photographs of you making it. However, I would like this to also have a literacy focus so if this is what you choose you MUST also include some writing to go with it. This could be instructions, a recount of what you did/used or a description. 

These are just some ideas...you may have some of your own! I would like you to present your projects to the rest of the class during the last week of half term so please bring them into school by Friday 27th March. I will also create a page in the homework section of the pupil login page where you can upload any Word/Publisher/PowerPoint documents.
