Year 3 WC 1st May 2017
Date: 3rd May 2017 @ 9:40pm
I hope you all enjoyed the extended weekend.
In Maths this week we are looking at addition and subtraction through measures, so we'll be calculating totals of money and using this to find change. We'll also be looking at units of measure for length, mass and capacity.
In English we are continuing with the Iron Man. The children have been producing lots of writing using this story as a stimulus. We'll are moving onto the innovation stage this week where the children substitue and alter the story.
In Science we are starting our new topic about food and nutrition. This week we'll be learning that we get nutrition from the different foods we eat and what it means to eat a balanced diet.
In RE, the children have started producing some fantastic artwork to represent the Trinity. We have been looking at various famous works of art and exploring symbols within these, which we have then used to create our own representation.
The children are really enjoying our Brazil topic. We have already begun by using Google Earth to see where in the world it is and used atlases to locate key cities and areas. In addition, we used the ipads to search for key facts and create fact file posters. This week we have started looking at the artist Henry Rousseau which has inspired our artwork using oil pastels.
