Year 3 WC 12th June 2017
Date: 11th Jun 2017 @ 12:19am
Last week we had a fantastic trip to Chester Zoo, despite the very wet weather. Our rainforest workshop really opened our eyes to the effects of deforestation and we gained some ideas as to what we can do to help. Back in class, we produced some non-chronological reports about the Amazon rainforest.
This week we are starting our new text, Varmints. We will be exploring the story using film, which we'll use to write a setting description.
In maths, we are going to be recapping the strategies we have learnt for addition and subtraction, deciding which would be the appropriate method based on the numbers involved.
In RE we are beginning our new topic about Islam. We'll be learning about what Muslims believe about God. We'll learn that Muslims call God, Allah and that the Qur'an uses 99 names to describe what Allah is like.
On Thursday morning I am on a science subject leader's course so Miss Ashworth will be teaching the class. PE will be taking place on Monday and Wednesday afternoon this week so please make sure that children have their full outdoor PE kit in school.
