Year 3 w.b 23rd September
Date: 27th Sep 2024 @ 2:51pm
We have had a fantastic week in Year 3! Thank you for your support with the spelling and Maths homework, as well as reading.
This week in English we have been editing and publishing our setting descriptions, describing the journey of the river. After this we have been learning about inverted commas for speech and writing diaries about some of the natural wonders of the world.
In Maths, we have been counting in 50s- the last place value lesson and done a little assessment. After this we moved on to some additiion of 3 digit numbers- adding ones to a 3 digit number.
In PSHE, we have been learning about conflict resolution and how to listen and compromise with others. In RE we have been looking at the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. In PE, we have been looking at footwork and passing in netball. In history, we have been looking at how transport developed in the industrial revolulution with the canal and railway systems.
In art, we focused on Monet's water lily painting. We created the Japanese bridge with masking tape, then used a mixture of blue and green watercolour to create the wonderful background. We tried painting just like Monet; dabbing and using small strokes to create an impressionist look. In computing, we began to look at how a file would travel around a network. We attempted to recreate the wires or wireless system using tape to join the devices. In Spanish we have been learning how to say the alphabet in Spanish. In music, we have learned our first notes and have been playing a short tune!
Have a wonderful weekend.
