We have had a fantastic week with the learning exhibition being a partiuclar highlight. I am very proud of the confidence the children showed in sharing an area of the curriculum that they enjoy. It was wonderful to see how they explained parts of the curriculum and asked questions and challenges. Thank you for you engagement if you were able to pop in for this.
In Maths this week, we have been measuring in metres, centimetres and millimetres. We have also looked at equivalent measures. e.g. 5cm and 3mm is the same as 53mm. Also things like 8m= 800cm. We know that 100cm=1m and 10mm=1cm so this is how we have worked out how to do this.
In English we have been researching foxes, writing informed technical sentences and analysing the model text- an information text about magpies with a view to writing our own text about foxes next week.
In art, we all chose a teddy or a small toy to sketch. Once we were happy with the outline and proportions, we focused on adding texture, tint and shade to show off our new-found skills.
In PE, we recapped all of the basketball skills: passing, dribbling, defending and shielding, and shooting.
In History we completed an assessment about whether we thought Henry VIII was a good king, while in RE we have been continuing to look at how Jesus changed lives.
In music we continued to play our instruments using some of the exciting songs that we have learned, while in computing, we used sketch.io as a program and continued to look at the parts of a computer.
