Year 3 trip to the National Waterways Museum!
Date: 12th Dec 2022 @ 4:25pm
We have had a fantastic, albeit chilly day at the National Waterways Museum in Elsmere Port. We learned how important Elsmere Port was during the industrial revolution and how the newly invented canal system transformed the seaside town into an industrial port, with links to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool (and therefore the rest of the world). We enjoyed a maps workshop and a guided tour of the museum, followed by a very interesting blacksmith demonstration where a horse shoe was made. Finally, we had a demonstration of how the lock system works in a canal, before heading back to the coach to thaw!
