Year 3 end of half term blog
Date: 17th Feb 2023 @ 3:50pm
Year 3 have had an excellent fortnight! We were visited last week by a shadowy silhouette with a black cloak; Mrs Taylor thought it may have been a witch, which was confirmed by many children and by Mrs Sant on CCTV! Following this, we looked at how to write newspaper reports and the children have written some excellent reports this week about the missing children including quotes from children and from Mrs Taylor.
In Maths, our focus has shifted to measuring length- we now know that there are 10mm in a cm, 100cm in a metre, and we have been adding, subtracting, measuring and comparing lengths; after half term we move onto perimeter and fractions.
In PE we have been learning how to pass and tag in tag rugby; we learned that we have to pass to the side or behind us and how to score a try. In Art we have been making sculptures of flowers and have painted these, while in RE we have continued to look at forgiveness using Bible stories to show what Jesus wants us to do. We have been learning how to keep safe on the internet and have continued to learn new notes and songs in music!
Year 3 have worked very hard this half term, and have been so caring and understanding during a difficult time; they have all been an absolute credit to you. Have a wonderful, restful half term. We look forward to seeing you after the break.
