Year 3 Anti-bullying Week
Date: 16th Nov 2016 @ 8:23am
This week it is Anti-Bullying Week. In our assembly on Monday we discussed the definition of bullying and the difference between this and being mean or rude. We then talked about different examples of bullying including cyber bullying and the steps we can take if we see it happening or it is happening to us. Mrs Riley used a tube of toothpaste, squeezing a little bit out for every mean comment. Just like we couldn't put the toothpaste back in the tube, mean words can't be taken back either. The apple looked fine on the outside but what we couldn't see until we cut it up, was the bruising inside. Someone who is being bullied may look fine but inside they are hurting.
Back in class, we discussed this further, working in groups to create role-plays to show being kind, being rude and thoughtless, being intentionally mean and bullying.
