Spellings
Spellings being sent home to learn this week are:

Please practice these in any way that works for your child, ideas have been sent home on a spelling strategy sheet. Keep this sheet safe and use to help learn the spellings each week – we call this our ‘memory lock’.
RE
We have looked at the work of the Salvation Army and the charity Barnardo’s and discussed how the members of these organisations reflect the behaviour of Jesus and how they show hospitality and welcome everyone?
We also looked at how our church, St. Oswald’s Church, and how it helps the community and talked about how we can get involved.
English – The Bog Baby
The children have been learning to understand how the Example Text is structured and the language features it has, these include; paragraphs, sub-headings to organise them, numbered commands in a series of ordered steps for the reader to follow, bullet points to list what is needed for the structure. Language features include: questions to interest the reader and make them want to read on, commands to tell the reader what to do, noun phrases are used to describe some of the items in the instructions and present tense.
Maths
This week we have continued to look at multiplication and division. We have looked at the 2 times-tables. Dividing by 2 and the link between doubling and having. Don’t forget you can work on timetables at home using Times Table Rock Stars.
Geography
We completed our Geography unit by recapping on the things we have learnt this hall term, including the continents and ocean names, and seasons and how they effects the farming and food in our country.
PE
Football FUNdamental skills has continued this week, but the weather took a turn so we came inside and did some great Yoga which was enjoyed by all the children.
Design Technology
This topic ended in great excitement as the pupils have made their pizzas! You can find some wonderful pictures attached to the blog.
Today has been Mrs Lindersen’s last day as she leaves us to start her maternity leave. We wish Mrs Lindersen all the love and happiness as she has lovely family time with her new bundle of joy and thank her for everything she has done for our class.
