Year 2 class blog w/b 24.9.18
Date: 28th Sep 2018 @ 7:22pm
We have had a wonderful week in year 2. Thank you for your support at home. The spelling rule was slightly easier this week, as we looked at kn and gn words where the k and g are silent.
In Maths this week we focused on addition and subtraction, particularly focusing on number bonds to 20, addition and subtraction being opposites and using the inverse to check our answers. In English we wrote an invented story loosely linked to the Dragon Machine.
In topic this week, we continued to make dragon eyes with Mrs Taylor and played games to practise fundamental skills in PE. In Science, we have been thinking about how we stay healthy and made a healthy eating plate of food. We have also been practising for our Harvest Service which we lead next week.
Just to remind you, the Harvest Service starts at 10am on Thursday next week and you are welcome to join us if you are able to do so.
Also, on Tuesday 9th October, it is Kings and Queens day. Please send your child in fancy dress. A king/ queen, prince/ princess or knight costume would be perfect. The following Tuesday (16th) it is our Stay and Make in the afternoon. Hopefully you have all seen the email. Please let me or the office know if you can come.
