Date: 28th Apr 2019 @ 1:32pm
Welcome back to another term in school; I hope you have all had a lovely, restful Easter. You should have received the termly letter, mystery reader letter and a stay and make letter related to ‘Pirate Day’ via email.
Spelling rules
This week we have focused ible and able words like ‘table’ and ‘possible.’
Maths and English
Our focus in Maths was on statistics and place value. Next week we will be focussing on arithmetic and reasoning style questions related to addition and subtraction in particular.
We looked at a variety of objects in English which related to the story ‘a River.’ We then analysed the circular story and wrote sentences using expanded nouns; next week we will be planning our own circular story.
Topic and Science
We had a super lesson with Miss Walker introducing the topic of pirates! Everybody used PCs, iPads and books to research and make a leaflet about pirates! In Music with Mrs Taylor Year 2 were using their body as an instrument. During Science we looked at a variety of objects, classifying and sorting them into groups based on their materials.
Class assembly scripts went out this week; please learn these lines off by heart ready for the class assembly on Friday 10th May. Thank you for your support.
If you have any questions, please get in touch.
