Year 2 class blog w/b 17.9.18
Date: 23rd Sep 2018 @ 1:14pm
We have had a wonderful week in year 2. Thank you for your support at home once again and in particular for help with some rather tricky spelling rules! The spelling rules aren’t all this tricky; however, we have had a couple of tricky rules over the last 2 weeks with the /s/ and /j/ sounds.
In Maths this week we focused on place value, involving comparing, sequencing and ordering numbers. We are continuing to secure the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, so any work at home on these would be useful, particularly if your child isn’t fluent with them. If they are confident, moving on to 3s and 4s would be useful. In English we innovated the story of the Dragon Machine. Some of us changed some of the characters and others wrote the story from another perspective.
In topic this week, we continued to make dragon eyes with Mrs Taylor and played games to practise fundamental skills in PE. In Science, we have been thinking about how we stay healthy and made a healthy eating plate of food.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
