Spelling rules

This week we focused on common exception words, ensuring that we can confidently spell all the Year 1 and 2 words, such as ‘beautiful’, ‘because’ and ‘should.’

Maths and English

Our focus in Maths was on measurement, reasoning and arithmetic questions in order to consolidate previously taught concepts. .

In English we baked my aunt’s ‘secret’ chocolate crunch recipe! We then looked at the features which make a good set of instructions and then we wrote a set of instructions on Thursday and Friday.

Next week

Just to remind you, the children in Year 2 will be completing their KS1 SATs this week and these will be finished by Thursday. They have worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks; thank you for your support with homework. As a bit of a treat at the end of the week, it will be ‘Pirate Day’. During the afternoon, we will be making pirate ships in a stay and make session! Please send back the slip to let me know if you or any relatives can attend the session.

 I will not be setting any homework or spelling this week.
