Spelling rules
This week we have focused on the year 2 rule where the last letter is doubled before we add a suffix e.g. drop- dropped, swim- swimming.
Maths and English
Our focus in Maths was fractions- we learnt all about equal parts and wholes, as well as halves and quarters. In English we published our best writing from the last unit of work. On Thursday we discovered a footprint in the school ground which we later discovered belonged to a tree giant! We made wanted posters for the giant and will do a range of written tasks based upon this non chronological report.
RE, Science and foundation subjects
In RE we started the new unit of forgiveness and learnt what this meant and how we can show it.
In Science, we continued our investigations as well as looking at the differences between seeds and bulbs.
In topic, we leant how to use a map and did a treasure hunt orienteering task around the school grounds! It was lots of fun!
Just to remind you, the Beeston residential meeting is on Monday at 6pm. It is important that somebody attends this meeting so that I can get form Cs, give out kit lists and give you as much information as possible about the overnight visit. It will also be a good opportunity to let me know of any concerns (however small) and let me know of any specific arrangements or things to be aware of.
