Year 2 Class Blog 1.10.18
Date: 5th Oct 2018 @ 4:31pm
We have had a super week in year 2. What a fantastic Harvest Service it was! Your children all did fantastically and did themselves very proud. It is not easy talking with such confidence to almost 300 people. Everybody did a wonderful job.
The spelling rule this week was a silent ‘w’ in ‘wr’ words like ‘wrap’ and ‘wrote. ’In Maths this week we focused on addition and subtraction, focusing on checking calculations using the inverse and spotting number patterns. In English we listened to the story of King Jack and the Dragon and completed various short writing tasks with particular year 2 SPAG focuses.
In topic this week, we continued to make dragon eyes with Mrs Taylor and played games to practise fundamental skills in PE. In Science, we made healthy courgette chocolate cakes and spoke about how to have a balanced diet.
On Tuesday 9th October, it is Kings and Queens day. Please send your child in fancy dress. A king/ queen, prince/ princess or knight costume would be perfect.
The following Tuesday (16th) it is our Stay and Make in the afternoon. Please let me or the office know if you can come.
