Year 2 class blog w/b 5.9.18

Welcome back to another year of school. I hope you have all had a fun-filled, relaxing summer. Thank you for anyone who found time to do the holiday homework about the Great Fire of London or about your favourite books.

It was wonderful to welcome four new children into our classroom in Year 2. We had an exciting start to the year, writing about dragons in Literacy and learning about tens and units in Maths.

Next week, we will start our Year 2 spelling rules which will be stuck in planners on Monday and there will be a spelling test on Friday. Mymaths will now be on Monday and due back on Wednesday, while English homework will be set on Wednesday and due in the following Monday. This should give you the weekend to complete it, should you wish it. 

Mystery Reader letters have been handed out but I will need them back soon if you wish to read. This term will be dads, followed by mums next term and other relatives thereafter.
