Year 1 class blog w/b 29.1.18

We have had a wonderful week in year 1! This week in phonics we have recapped on the tion sound. Thank you for your help with some tricky spellings!

In English, we invented discovered polar bear footprints in our classroom! We learned the story map for a non-chronological report about polar bears! The children did a fantastic job and have learned lots of facts about polar bears! We did lots of short burst writing around the text.

In maths we learned about doubling, halving and did some more work on fact families.

In topic we learned about Mount Everest and created a fact file, as well as publishing some work for our display. In RE we started our topic about forgiveness and did some drama portraying somebody making a bad choice and another showing somebody saying sorry and being forgiven.
