Year 1 class blog w/b 23.4.18

We have had a wonderful week in year 1. Many thanks for your support with spellings. Please continue to record when your child has read in their planners.

In English this week, we innovated the story of the Papaya that Spoke and there were lots of super ideas.

In Maths, we multiplied using arrays and then moved on to division (sharing equally). In RE we listened to the story of Zacchaeus, before completing an assessment about how he had changed after meeting Jesus in the story. In science this week we learned about and created food chains, following on from our work on carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

Just to remind you: at 5pm this Wednesday there will be a meeting in year 1 regarding the phonics screening test. Please come along if you would like to find out more about it and how you can support your child with phonics at home.
