Year 1 class blog w/b 16.4.18

I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break. I enjoyed hearing about all of the children’s holiday news and enjoyed seeing all of the Space projects! They are now up on display in the classroom. year 1!

In English this week, we discovered a talking papaya in our classroom. We were learning the story of the Papaya that Spoke! We enjoyed doing lots of writing about and around the story.

In Maths, we looked at capacity and volume, before moving on to multiplication using repeated addition and arrays. In RE we listened to the story of Zacchaeus and acted out the story, before we made a tree explaining how he had changed after meeting Jesus in the story. In science this week we learned some tricky vocabulary:  carnivore, herbivore and omnivore.
