Year 1 - Final week and homework

I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of the support from all of the Year 1 families over the past two terms and a big thank you for all of the lovely cards and gifts I have received this week.  Year 1 have been a pleasure to teach and will be greatly missed.

Homework for over the Easter holidays is as follows:

Maths - Challenge cards in homework folders will need the support of an adult when being completed, they are to challenge the children's problem solving and reasoning skills.  I have also gone through each child's maths targets with them so any additional work on these would be benificial.  They can also go back and practise any of the homework links from previous weeks.

English - This week we have been looking at non-fiction (fact) books and designing our own.  Over the holidays the children could create their own fact page or book on a topic of their choice - a few examples we had were Space, London, Planets, Horses, Tigers and Pizza!

Use these games for lots of practise on Phase 5 phonemes! Children can choose a particular phoneme to focus on or click on the 'revise all phase 5' for a selection.
