The week started with lots of wet playtimes so the children were indoors for a lot of the time. That said, they managed very well, watching Horrible Histories, playing games and completing beautiful colouring sheets. Thankfully, we have been able to get outdoors the past few days and enjoy playing football, running on the trim trail and playing on the outdoor equipment.
This week, the children have been working very hard on their three times table- we are beginning a table tournament to see which group can recite all the way up to 12x3. There has been a marked improvement in their security with this, this week. Why not test their knowledge over the weekend?
Also in our Maths, we have returned to column addition and subtraction. As the days go by, we will be introducing more and more challenging exchanges and carrying as we deal with 4-digit numbers.
As we prepare for the Learning Exhibition next Thursday, we have been working on our presentations for you including a drama about David and Goliath. This is from David's point of view and seeks to show the characteristics of David himself. How he uses these characteristics is very telling in his behaviours- what God sees in his heart we can see on the outside.
Well done to all those who completed their homework and also practised their weekly spellings. Another round of them will be on Dojo next Monday. We are also ramping up our work on handwriting as we practice a controlled joined style.
This week, I have been able to add photos from previous weeks. These include a PSHE lesson where the children had to become a mechanism working together to create something. It also includes several Science lessons and plenty of photos from our PowerPoint and touch skills lessons in Computing.
This week, our superstars were Archie and Orla who worked so beautifully together on the PowerPoint about bunnies. They worked out how to create, save and rename their presentation, as well as copying and pasting photos to create an interesting slide. They supported each other so well and clearly enjoyed working together. Well done to you both.
We wish you a lovely weekend and look forward to next week.
