Y3 Blog w.b. 2nd December

We have had another wonderful week in Year 3. 

In English this week, we have been writing a threatening narrative about the Iron Man as he appears on the cliff top and approaches the village, getting closer and closer! We have edited and published using our best Year 3 joined up handwriting. On Thursday a letter arrived from the Mayor! He told us that the farmers' trap, a deep pit, had failed; the Iron Man had escaped! He needs our help to design a trap and then explain how it works by writing an explanation text!

In Maths, our focus has been multiplying and dividing by 8! We have been using the song which goes to the tune of Bingo was his name, to help us! If you can support at home with TT Rockstars, this would be useful, as well as recapping on the 3s, 4s (and 2s, 5s and 10s if needed).

In PE this week, we focussed on passing and shooting in football. In Science, we experimented with light by using mirrors. We were learning about how light reflects from different surfaces.

In Forest School, we did some map work and designed our own Forest school area while in Spanish we said sentences with the verb soy (I am).

We had a fantastic trip to watch the Three Musketeers at the New Vic on Wednesday! It was very gripping and the children were engrossed in the storyline!
