Year One - Week commencing 9th September 2019

It was good to see so many parents at the welcome meetings on Tuesday.  I have added the presentation to the class page on the website for those who were unable to attend. 

We had a great week this week.  The class are starting to get to grips with Powermaths where we have been counting to ten and sorting objects into groups.  We had our 'hook' lesson in English where the witch from Rapunzel left a spell book in the year one classroom with instructions on how to build a tower!  Then we explored possible reasons that the witch may have done this and had a go at building towers with a variety of materials.

We have started to rehearse a Harvest song, "The Harvest Samba".  You can find this on YouTube if you would like to help your child to learn the words.

Children have had phonics or spelling homework this week and I have added a task to My Maths.
