Week Beginning 22nd January
Date: 26th Jan 2018 @ 5:29pm
This week the children have thoroughly enjoyed engaging in a number of different activities. In English, we have been writing our own stories based on different fairy tales that we have read in class. The children demonstrated that they had understood the class story map well and adapted it using their own knowledge and imagination. These stories were so wonderful that they have been published and put onto their publishing pegs to share with the rest of the school.
In Maths, we have worked on division questions and problems as well as odd and even numbers this week. At the start of the week we looked at the bar model which means the children found the amount of groups and divided the number up into sections. From there the children looked at answering word problems and explaining their reason by using apparatus to justify their answers.
In Science this week, we have completed our science experiment of looking at alterative materials for the roof of a house. This did prove that other materials, such as wood, may be useful as a roof; however as a class we decided that due to the fire risk we would not recommend this as a replacement for materials used on roofs today.
Just a little reminder that we have our ‘Stay and Make’ morning on Monday at 10am. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.
Have a lovely weekend.
