Week beginning 19.6.17
Date: 25th Jun 2017 @ 6:16pm
We had a fantastic week in year 2. Thank you for your support with spellings and homework.
This week in phonics we have been looking at words that contain the silent letters kn and gn, as well as words with the /j/ sound. In English we discovered mysterious footprints and a treasure chest with sparkling diamonds in it! We realised that the footprints belonged to a wolf-like dog and the treasure had been found in a cave from Sandy Cove! We learned a new story map and enjoyed some short burst writing about it. In maths this week we have been measuring length, height, mass, capacity and even temperature.
In science this week we learned about the life cycle of a plant and filled in week 2 of our bean diaries! The plants in the cupboard are the tallest, but are yellow in colour; the ones by the window are doing well and are much greener, albeit shorter. In RE we are continuing to focus on Judaism, while in PE we have been practising for Sports Day.
