Week beginning 10th Sept
Date: 18th Sep 2018 @ 4:27pm
Hello everybody,
Last week we started our English writing with a fantastic hook lesson which involved the children discovering a new 'civilisation' within the school grounds; the person living there had even left us an unusual fruit to try. This has been inspired by the book 'Weslandia' by Paul Fleischman and we will be using this book over the next few weeks in order to write some really imaginative magical stories.
In maths we have been working on place value and the importance of hundreds, tens and ones within three digit numbers, and how to compare and arrange numbers up to 1000.
We started our first science unit last week in which we have been examining rocks and have discovered that some 'rocks' are actually man-made.
I hope that every child has found something they enjoyed in a lesson to talk about with you at home and I am looking forward to sharing their work with you in person over the coming weeks.
Mr. Cotton
