WC 7th November 2016
Date: 3rd Nov 2016 @ 10:41pm
I hope you are having a lovely and restful break after a very busy half term. We have lots to look forward to in the run up to Christmas.
We will be starting our new topic, Egyptians, which I know the children will really enjoy. We always begin by asking the children what they want to learn about the topic; what interesting questions they may have and any ideas for activities.
The Key Stage 2 team are busy learning our new poem which will be the focus for our Talk 4 Writing unit in Literacy, so expect the children to come home reciting lots of poetry over the next few weeks.
In Maths we are beginning multiplication starting with times tables, number sequences and using sorting diagrams to compare and sort numbers. We will be starting times tables tests every Friday which will help to increase the speed that children can recall their tables. There is a separate blog with these tests added to the files so children can practise them at home.
Swimming will continue on Wednesday afternoons starting from Wednesday 9th November. This week we also have Mr Capewell from Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School coming in to work with the children on Wednesday morning, so please ensure PE kits are in school.
Don't forget it is our Remembrance Service at St Oswalds on Friday 11th November.
