Year 3 WC 3rd December 2016
Date: 3rd Dec 2016 @ 10:02pm
What a busy week we have just had! We were very excited to meet John Bishop on Monday and were fascinated to learn all about his life. On Tuesday we had our theatre trip to see the Snow Queen and on Thursday we were wowed by Reception's nativity.
In Maths this week we are starting on time. This will include telling and writing the time from analogue and digital clocks with increasing accuracy. Towards the end of the week we hope to start solving problems involving the passage of time using calendars and timetables. You can help your child by encouraging them to tell the time at home and asking questions such as 'It's quarter to 8 now and we leave at 8:25. How long do we have to get ready?' or 'Your swimming lesson lasts 30 minutes, so what time will it finish?'
In English we are innovating our Beowulf story maps. The work the children have produced so far is fantastic! I'm really looking forward to seeing the children's ideas unfold over the next couple of weeks.
We are completing the final part of our science unit this week looking at fossils and how they are formed.
In RE we are learning about the different Advent customs and explaining their symbolism for Christians.
