In Maths this week we are completing our unit on place value and then starting addition and subtraction. To begin with we will start on using mental strategies adding and subtracting mutliples and near mutliples of 10 and 100. 

In English, we are continuing with the text, Weslandia, which the children are really enjoying and producing some wonderful writing as a result. I have been really impressed with their imaginative use of adjectives and similes. Our next grammar focus will be fronted adverbials. 

Homework

The children will bring home their MyMaths login details today. For this week I have set both Maths and English homework today and they are both due in on Friday 23rd September. Next week it will go back to normal with English given out on Mondays and Maths on Wednesdays. If there are any problems with completing the homework online please let me know. There will be a homework club on Wednesday lunchtime should children wish to stay in and do their work then.
