We have all become editors this week, creating our own publications. The whole process from strat to finish has included, planning and writing an instruction sheet. The theme was to write a chapter of a monster hunter's manual- how to capture either a Kraken or Fenrir, both mythological creatures from the Viking era. Then we became editors and designed a mock-up of our publication, basing it off the design of a Haynes manual. After this, we then scaled up and finished off our final publication- a lot of hard work but the results were fabulous. As you can see, the room resembled an organised chaos.

We have finished our Maths unit on Time. Analogue clocks are now more secure amongst the group as is the 12- and 24-hour clock. We have also enjoyed playing this game, Approaching Midnight: https://nrich.maths.org/10725

Mrs Warren took a lively session in the Hall. Dodgeball was the name of the game. The competitive spirit was palpable and I must admit I saw the children in a new light! The played really well with great skill and discussing tactics within their team.

We have been focussing on flourishing throughout school. In class, we have talked about newxt half term's project that will be developed with Mr Simmons and our Forest School sessions. We will be growing beans with an aim of recognising what it takes to grow up strong and healthy. This will be coupled with a PSHE focus as we build our resilience and understanding of ourselves. We will reveal that we grow and develop a little more every day, recognising that it takes time and perseverance to acheive results and that those results are all the more satisfying for this.

Thank you so much to the children for a wonderful half term: myths, legends, fractions, Windrush, York, times tables, composing, reading clocks, decimals, money reading buddies, Vikings in Spanish, rounders, gymnastics, dodgeball. Flourishing all round!

Well done to both Will and Elizabeth who both received the Celebration Flourishing Certificate.

Have a fabulous break!
